First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has said it is not enough to close down schools while parents still have to go to work, because those same parents will go home and infect their kids.

She tweeted:

“It is commendable that state governors have closed down schools; however, this could be counterproductive if parents are still going to work. We should not isolate students and expose their parents. Let us remember that they will meet at home. #TotalLockDown #StayAtHome.”

However, Nigerians responded by asking what plans the government has put in place to cater to citizens if they do not work to make money for their families.

@Alvin_IME wrote: “One question please, how do they stay at home when there is no electricity supply, how do they feee without working to gain wages because I know,I KNOW that the government can’t take care of everyone, let’s be truthful and realistic with ourselves.”

@Zayyanklg wrote: “Stay at home with no light and the weather is extremely hot!.”

@Soloawo wrote: “The Nigeria @NGRPresident government should make available about $1billion to Nigerians through GEEP PROGRAM platform @geep_ng They can call it COVID 19 bailout moni or whatever. It’s satanic to restrict people’s movement without access to food at home.”
